Platform “Without Distance”
Educational platform “Without Distance” 2023 is part of the project “Life Long Burning – Future Lost and Found (LLB 3), and implemented with the financial support of the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, the “Culture” Programme of the Sofia Municipality, the National Culture Fund under the Programme “Recovery and Development of Private Cultural Organizations”, in partnership with the Goethe-Institut Bulgarien.
“Nothing Private” is led by the Ukrainian choreographer Anton Ovchinnikov and focused on the relationship between the public and the personal in the dance. These two spheres not only influence each other, but have become part of every contemporary artist’s message. Regardless of the frequency they are present in art, the question of how willing we are to share our personal experiences in public still remains relevant. Are we ready to take responsibility for our point of view in front of others? Are we ready to make the private public and where are the boundaries between the two?
In a 3-day workshop, participants will touch the depths of their experiences, share them with others and articulate a message in the language of dance.
Anton Ovchinnikov is multidisciplinary artist. He works as choreographer, performer, composer, lecturer, and organizer of the annual international dance festival “Zelyonka Space UP” in Kyiv. Ovchinnikov graduated from Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, MA. Since 2008 he is the artistic director of the “Black O!Range” dance productions company.
