Just Dance: TRASH

The performance “Just Dance: Trash” is a reflection on the significance of machismo in contemporary society. In what ways are we subject to narratives of masculinity as an attribute of the victorious, the strong, the capable, the serious, the brave, the worthy, and — not least — those who create the Show? What drives global politics and the economy, and who are the major players?

The gestures of power and the mechanisms of their social maintenance are subject to demasking through hyperbolization. The performance draws attention to the relationship between symbolic and financial capital, secured by conventions of masculinity.
