FLORIAN BÜCKING & RAISA KRÖGER: “NARRAGONIEN”
What were you particularly interested in when creating ”Narragonien”?
“Narragonien” is our third production and although we´re working with certain parameters representing our interest, we were looking for a different focus point. It turned out that narrativity and the urge to tell a story is quite foreign to us and we would like to understand how to be narrative within our personal artistic realm.
What was the main challenge for you in this performance?
Dramaturgy. We had a lot of material and we were looking at it from all sides – physically. We had tons of video recordings we needed to look at after rehearsals in order to decide what is right and what might fit better in the universe of the piece.
What experience would you like to create for the spectators with “Narragonien”?
We would like to put them in a similar position in which we are in, but more like on the other side of the coin. The piece is a journey. It’s is about losing yourself and finding yourself back again due to the other and what s/he is representing. It is about tripping and diving into the microcosm.
What makes you work in the field of dance and performance?
We do have different his/stories concerning our love and interests towards the body. The human body and movement will always be our starting point to research and express what’s underneath the phenomena and the aesthetics we´re interested in. Although our inspiration often can be found in the fine arts which are shaping the visual aspect of our pieces.
