Scores for Laughter
Concept: Antonia Baehr (Germany), Christian Kesten (Germany), Nicole Dembélé, William Wheeler, Henry Wilt; Performance: Antonia Baehr
Antonia Baehr is the one who laughs. She laughed and while she was doing so I wondered about what was exactly happening in her body at this time? Laugh became the topic of a research project taking form through workshops, scores, interpretations of scores, and then a show and also the book “Rire/Laugh/Lachen” (2008). The artist was not only interested in the mechanic of laugh and in its physiological components, but also in the sound and shape, the music, choreography and drama, the rhythm and the gesture of laughter. As an expression in separation from its causal baggage; jokes, tickles, narrative, humor, joy, looking at the thing itself. The perfomance is realised in partnership with Goethe Institut Bulgarien.
