MAGAZINE FOR DANCE

MAGAZINE FOR DANCE, Vol. 1
Premiere

A prelude to the artistic programme of the Antistatic Festival is the premiere of the first issue of the new annual “MAGAZINE FOR DANCE”. In 120 pages the magazine presents processes, personalities, events and ideas from the world of classical to contemporary dance and dance culture in Bulgarian and international contexts. It features interviews with dance artists and managers, reviews of dance productions and forthcoming events. The magazine looks back at the history of dance in Bulgaria and for the first time it publishes in Bulgarian significant theoretical texts. Main theme of the issue is “Beauty in Dance”. What is behind the ideal of beauty in art and how does it change over time? 12 Bulgarian and international choreographers answer the question: “What is beauty in dance for you?” and a special essay follows the history of this eternally desired and elusive category. Editor-in-chief of the magazine is Angelina Georgieva, and among its contributors are Anelia Yaneva, Arnd Wesemann (Germany), Mira Todorova, Maria Rusanova, Elena Angelova, Ani Vaseva, Maria Baraschka, Iva-Nerina Sibila (Croatia), Asen Terziev, Albena Tagareva a.o.

Specials guest: Arnd Wesemann, editor of “tanz” Magazine (Germany)
