Residency within the project “(NON)ALIGNED MOVEMENTS Strengthening contemporary dance in Western Balkans / NAM”

Dragana Alfirević was born in Belgrade and has studied Art History at the Faculty of Philosophy in the Serbian capital. She graduated from the programme “BODY UNLIMITED” at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad. Dragana is co-founder of the “Balkan Dance Network” and “Nomad Dance Academy” – a regional tool for communication, education and artistic exchange. Alfirevic is author and co-author of 15 performances and a dozen of short choreographies for theatre performances. She teaches, writes, and curates festivals and events between practice, theory, and activism. She is a member of the Managing Board of Slovene Association of Contemporary Dance. In 2019 she received the Award of Ksenija Hribar for the best producer.

Her residency will be between 11 and 16 May.

For Dragana Alfirevich the residency is an opportunity to get acquainted with some of the most significant performances from the Bulgarian contemporary dance scene, programmed within the third Bulgarian Dance Platform. Few of the performances from the international program of the festival are also part of Dragana’s schedule of a resident. She will share her experience in a review with her colleagues from Ljubljana, but also with the team of the annual “Cofestival”.
