In her solo, one of the new interesting names on the international scene – the Hamburg-based American artist Dani Brown invited a guest into her studio: the devil himself. Tempted by his infinite power of play, creation, and destruction she slips into a variety of figures, testing how far she can push acting, her relationship with the audience, and how the boundaries of the symbolic ritual of theater can be reset. HOW DO YOU IMAGINE THE DEVIL? is probably the hottest one woman show on the German choreography scene, bewildering and entertaining in equal measure in its dealings with the possibilities and the fiction of what is real. It was selected for Tanztage Berlin 2013.
