Debate: RECONSIDERING THE POLICIES REGARDING SPACES FOR CONTEMPORARY INDEPENDENT THEATRE AND DANCE IN SOFIA

An initiative of Antistatic Festival and ACT Association for Independent Theatre 

The debate is provoked by the situation of further deteriorated equality and real isolation in which the independent theatre and dance stage fell after the most recent theatre reform in terms of access to stages and spaces in order to carry out its activities. The management of state and municipal theatres and the necessary changes to the regulation of their relationships with independent productions as well as the opportunities to transform and open new spaces for performing arts in Sofia will be brought up for discussion. Among the invitees are managers of Sofia theatres, representatives of Sofia Municipality and Ministry of Culture, funding institutions, independent artists and cultural operators of spaces for art and culture.
