8 April, 7 pm, Theatre Laboratory “Sfumato”
A performance by Jared Gradinger and Angela Schubot (Germany)
Artists talk after the show.
Jared Gradinger and Angela Schubot undertake in “What they are instead of” a radical physical experiment – through breath and movement they strive to shift the distance and borders between the bodies seeking a form of unconditional togetherness. Movement turns into rhythm, the bodies merge into a symbiotic being. How much of their physical individuality is left at the end? Can intimacy embrace otherness to form a kind of common being? “Hats off to this radical experiment… At once bewildering, funny, poetic and thought-provoking.” (Weser Kurier)
Production by: Jared Gradinger and Angela Schubot/Two Fish. In coproduction with les grandes traversées/ Bordeaux, Haus der Kulturen der Welt and Schwelle7. In collaboration with Pictoplasma.
The guest-performance is supported by Goethe-Institut Bulgaria.
