A seminar with ARND WESEMANN
Without Distance Platform 2019
Journalist and editor of Europe’s leading dance magazine “tanz”, Arnd Wesemann is an expert in dance and dance criticism. He is going to share his views and to create conversations with the participants on performing arts criticism in contemporary context.
- Ways to understand, write and review dance; dual role of dance critics in dance work and review writing;
- Dual role of dance critics in dance work and review writing;
- Purposes and methods of writing dance review;
- Establishment and formation of dance review from historical context.
The seminar is for journalists and critics in the sphere of culture and contemporary arts.
About Arnd Wesemann:
Arnd Wesemann became after his theatre studies, in 1997, an editor of the German-speaking dance magazine “tanz”, published in Berlin. He has published a number of books on politics and aesthetics, including “Immer Feste Tanzen” (“The Dancing Feast”, 2006), a German-language collection of essays on the history of dance and dance as an antidote to work.

The organizer covers participation fee, accommodation in Sofia for the days of the workshop and discount tickets for the performances from the Antistatic Festival programme.
